Dynamising The Fixed Mindset!

Imbibing the mindset that we can have or get all we want in life;

The mindset that we are superior to others because of our family, background or tribe;

The mindset that since your family is successful, therefore you will succeed;

The mindset that with “God all things are possible” – as a result, you will fold your hands waiting for the impossible to be done by God, forgetting what the Bible cautions in Proverbs 4:26 thus: “plan carefully what you do, and whatever you do will turn out right.” It doesn’t say “pray or wait carefully” but “plan…;”

The mindset that because our prophets say we will be rich, therefore we will be rich without working for it – we just have to wait for the appointed time;

The mindset that if we study hard and come out with good grades, we are guaranteed to succeed in Life;

The mindset that those who don’t study hard, or maybe not bright academically will end up being nothing;

The mindset that we cannot do it because we know no one that has done it before;

The mindset that the future holds the best, without factoring in the worst outcomes – over optimism about the future.

Nursing the mindset of euphoric, flowery relationship (s);

The mindset of how to get and be the best of you, without considering “others” that are not you;

The fake mindset of social media perfect solutions that rarely exist in real life – the unrealistic utopian world;

The mindset of a perfect character – a superhuman!

You may not discover your hidden abilities until you stop relying on the old consensus philosophy that – what will be, will simply be!

That you will succeed because you pray – when you have never worked for it!

That all will be possible and achievable because you believe – when you have never tried any thing differently. The Bible book of Ecclesiastes 4:13 has it that – “Better is a boy, poor and wise, than a king, old and foolish, who does not know to look ahead for the sake of posterity.” The key point in the above nugget is “look ahead for the sake of posterity” and not to “believe without any good idea or plans.”

You had better stop thinking that manna will fall from heaven; you have to make a move to provoke and discover the manna, even if eventually falls.

The reality is – you cannot prosper or succeed more than the success of your mindset. You need to “dynamise” your mindset to accommodate different views and opinions, and not stick to your dogmatic, reactionary views.

Here’s how it works according to Benjamin P. Hardy:

– You determine skills and abilities that would be useful to the world.

– You set clear goals for mastering those rare and valuable skills.

– You engage in deliberate practice, pushing your skills and abilities to mastery.

Because you have developed such mastery of rare and useful skills, you have the perspective and context to discern the “cutting edge” of your field.

The rest will be story…

If you want to become successful, it’s better to follow what successful people did to get there than to follow what they do after achieving “success.”
