Digital skills that make a difference

We are a non profit organisation dedicated to helping youths acquire life-transforming digital skills.

Imagine a world where every child can learn essential digital skills by the age of 13!

Digital skills should be a right for every child. Background, social or financial situation shouldn’t be a barrier to acquiring such life-defining skills.

Since our inception in 2017, we have empowered more than 400 youths with vital digital skills to prepare them for a beautiful future.

Why We Exist

We strongly believe that digital skills should be a right for every child. We empower youths regardless of background or financial situation with essential digital skills.

What We Do

We restore abandoned talents and help our young men and women achieve their dreams and aspirations via Information Technology (IT).

We empower young girls with skills that would get them off the streets.

We help young people in our communities develop I.T skills that would get them out of poverty.

This in turn help our youths to stay away from trouble, decrease the rate of crime, unemployment, and poverty in our society at large.

How We Do IT

IT4YUS is driven by brilliant minds for the benefit of the our entire society. We take a bottom-up approach to ensure that no child irrespective of their background, social, economic, or financial situation is left behind.

Catch Them Young

Catch them Young (CTY): CTY is a school outreach initiative targeted at secondary school students. We take computers to teach them in their classrooms. We help them develop the essential digital skills needed to advance to the university and/or pursue a career in IT.

Digital Skills for Sustainability

IT for Sustainability (IT4S): IT4S is a three-month training boot camp on diverse IT skills. It targets unemployed graduates, teachers and others so that they can get a job and/or start their own business and provide for themselves and their families.

Uni CBT

Uni CBT: We organise an intensive 2-month JAMB computer-based training (CBT) boot camp for prospective university students. This target those who already finished secondary school but cannot sit for JAMB (university entrance exam) due to a lack of computer skills. We help them acquire the required digital skills to sit and pass the JAMB CBT exams.

IT Debate Competition

This an annual Information Technology Debate Competition for secondary schools to enlightenment our young people and the society in general about the importance of Information Technology. The 2022 edition was won by New Heaven Secondary School Oshiri, Ebonyi State, represented by three brilliant girls. More than 400 people from all works of life attended.  The community has never witnessed any such event.

Oshiri 1K.5

This an initiative designed to empower 1000 youths in Oshiri with life-saving IT skills in 5 years. More than 50 youths have already been empowered since the start of this project in June 2022.

Our Impact

The ripple effects of IT4YUS projects are already being felt in the communities we operate. In Oshiri (a rural community in Ebonyi State, Nigeria) for example, so many people utilised the acquired digital skills to earn a living, others are now able to gain admission into universities.

Crime Reduction: Train at least 100 people every year under our Uni CBT program. To enable them write and pass the university entrance exam (JAMB CBT). This means 100 more youths are highly likely to go to university every year, instead of resorting to crime in the community.

Sustainability and Poverty Alleviation:  Empower at least 25 youths every 3 months (i.e., 100 every year) with life-transforming digital skills under our IT4S program. This make them self-reliant and financially independent, enough to bring themselves and their families out of poverty.

Bridging the gap between girl child education and women in IT: Women have equal opportunities to pursue a career in or through IT. We ensure that at least 60% of our scholars are girls.

Bring Abilities to those with Disabilities (e.g.,visually impaired): Instead of relying on others, the disabled could use the acquired digital skills to discover their hidden abilities and thus, become productive and valued assets to the community.

Ameliorate Sexual Abuse and Gender-Based Violence:  When our young girls are empowered with useful skills to make their own money, they would no longer be exploited for money by men. This will drastically reduce domestic violence and sexual abuse.

More than 400 young men and women have been empowered. We have made many parents to realise the importance of IT and therefore encourage their children to consider IT courses and careers. This is unlike when every parent wanted their child to become a lawyer, doctor, or engineer.

IT4YUS is unlocking the hidden potential in our youths, restoring hope to the hopeless, putting them back to school, bringing new abilities to those disabled and preparing them for a beautiful future.

Make a Difference

Our youths are yearning for help. Help us help more people with life-saving digital skills.
