The maiden edition of IT4YUS ANNUAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEBATE held on the 3rd day of March 2022, was indeed a success. In fact, expectations were surpassed. With the display of our young minds at the event, we are more than sure that with IT, the future is so beautiful.
THRILLED AUDIENCE
The event had over 350 people from different walks of life in attendance: teachers, business people, farmers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, engineers, among others.
21 vibrant speakers graced the podium to represent their respective schools — New Haven Model Secondary School, Oshiri; Unity High School, Ugwu Oshiri; Comprehensive Secondary School, Oshiri; Community Secondary School, Oshiri and St. Michael’s College, Oshiri.
Good justice was done to the topics: Cryptocurrency: a Threat to Fiscal Stability; Elections in Nigeria should be Technologically Driven for Freeness and Fairness; Digital Divide is the Real Bane of Modern Societal Advancement, and Has Technology Come to Save the World or Destroy it?
After the preliminary rounds, New Haven Model Secondary School, Oshiri and St. Michael’s College, Oshiri, proceeded to the grand finale to slug it out on the topic: Digital Divide is the Real Bane of Modern Societal Advancement.
The WINNER – NEW HAVEN MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL OSHIRI
At the end of the event, New Haven Model Secondary School, Oshiri, emerged as the WINNER, St. Michael’s College, Oshiri, emerged the FIRST RUNNER-UP, while Comprehensive Secondary, School, Oshiri, emerged as the SECOND RUNNER-UP.
The journey is still on. The vision is to EMPOWER EVERY CHILD WITH ESSENTIAL IT SKILLS.
